The Women’s Health Course

Sunday 6th Sept 9.30am-12.30pm Sports and Spinal Physiotherapy Clinic Clonmel.

Women’s Health for Movement Professionals: what every instructor should know

Looking to upskill on a specific Women’s Health Course for instructors? This is it. Designed for Pilates and yoga teachers, strength and conditioning coaches, and any other movement professionals who want to deepen their understanding of women’s health through a physio and movement lens throughout the stages of Prenatal, Postnatal and Perimen/Menopause.

With 20 years of physiotherapy experience and a specialist focus on Women’s Health, Orla has a depth of expertise that’s hard to match. Add in 12 years of teaching classes, and she’s gathered an incredible range of skills and wisdom along the way. Join her for a half‑day workshop and you’ll walk away with a richer understanding of your own body—and new ways to help your clients thrive safely during natural transitions.

You’ll learn:

  • How hormones influence power and the effect of hormones on connective tissue
Understand the key hormonal changes that affect the female body across the lifespan, and what that means in practice for training, recovery, load, and exercise selection. Learn how connective tissue responds, why this matters for stability and resilience, and how to adapt your teaching or coaching accordingly.
  • How to support yourself and guide clients well
Explore practical, evidence-informed ways to support your own health and make safe, appropriate recommendations to clients in a class or coaching setting.
  • Continence issues: what movement professionals need to know
Gain a clear understanding of common continence concerns, what may help, and the treatment options available so you can respond appropriately and confidently.
  • Prolapse: signs, support, and exercise considerations
Learn about prolapse issues, available supports, and how to integrate helpful, medically sound movement approaches into your work.
  • A stronger foundation in women’s health for teaching and coaching
Build your confidence in working with female clients through a more informed, compassionate, and clinically grounded approach. Exercise examples, cuing options, gym based session!

Leave with knowledge you can confidently translate into safe, practical, class-friendly guidance without stepping outside your scope of practice.
